Ingredients Glossary

Skincare labels and supplement labels are both full of names you didn't take a chemistry class for. Here's what the key ingredients across our shop actually do, organized by what you're trying to solve, not the alphabet.

Skincare, by Concern

For Hydration

Hyaluronic Acid holds up to 1,000x its weight in water, helping skin stay plump and flexible. Glycerin pulls moisture in and keeps your skin's barrier soft and supple. Squalane mimics your skin's own natural oils, so it absorbs like it belongs there.

For Fine Lines & Wrinkles

Bakuchiol is a gentler, plant-derived alternative to retinol, it smooths fine lines and stimulates cell turnover without the irritation. Ferulic Acid is a protective antioxidant shown to reduce visible signs of aging. Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate is a stable form of Vitamin C that fades discoloration and boosts collagen production.

For Dull Skin

Vitamin C evens tone and brightens, while helping skin recover from pollution and sun exposure. Niacinamide improves texture and tone while helping skin hold onto moisture. Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate is rich in enzymes and amino acids that defend against free-radical damage and support a resilient skin barrier.

For Hyperpigmentation

Vitamin C helps fade discoloration and even out tone. Apricot Kernel Oil is rich in Vitamin E, known to help fade scarring and hyperpigmentation. Kefiran is a fermented, probiotic active shown to reduce the appearance of lines and improve firmness.

For Acne & Blemishes

Niacinamide reduces the appearance of acne while calming inflammation. Lauric Acid, found naturally in coconut oil, is moisturizing with acne-fighting properties. Bisabolol, extracted from chamomile, calms redness and irritation.

Supplements & Wellness, by Need

Brain Health

Choline is an essential nutrient your brain and nervous system need to regulate memory, mood, muscle control, and cell membrane formation. Vitamin B Complex, eight B vitamins, supports energy levels, brain function, and cell metabolism.

Gut Health

Probiotic ferments, like the Lactobacillus and Galactomyces ferments used in several of our formulas, support a healthy microbiome. Lecithin acts as a natural emulsifier that also supports digestive comfort.

Immunity

Vitamin C supports immune function while protecting cells from everyday oxidative stress. Vitamin D plays a role in immune regulation alongside its better-known role in bone health. Zinc is essential to immune function, cell growth, and tissue repair.

Pain

Arnica Montana is a botanical extract traditionally used to ease muscle soreness and support recovery. Menthol delivers the cooling sensation behind most topical pain relief, often paired with warming actives for deeper muscle relief. Vitamin K supports the body's ability to heal bruising by strengthening capillaries.

Sexual Wellness

Maca Root is an adaptogenic root traditionally used to support energy and hormonal balance. Arginine, an amino acid and building block of collagen, also plays a role in circulation.

Sleep

Melatonin regulates your sleep-wake cycle. Sleep support is available in both melatonin and melatonin-free formulas depending on your preference. Magnesium is a mineral involved in nervous system regulation, often taken in the evening to support relaxation.

Stress

Adaptogens, Ashwagandha, Rhodiola Rosea, Reishi Mushroom, Ginseng, Cordyceps, Shilajit, Lion's Mane, and Holy Basil, support the body through its stress response and help regulate the endocrine system, especially the adrenal glands.

What We Leave Out

Just as important as what's in our products is what's not. Every product we carry is screened against a list of more than 1,000 restricted ingredients, including parabens, synthetic fragrances (listed as "parfum" or "fragrance"), phthalates, sulfates, formaldehyde and formaldehyde-releasing preservatives, BHA/BHT, siloxanes, mineral oil and petrolatum, talc, aluminum compounds, oxybenzone and other reef-harming sunscreen chemicals, and heavy metals like lead and nickel, all linked to hormone disruption, irritation, or longer-term health concerns.
